Helllloooo friends! Toby here!

As we count down the days to Toby’s Pet Parade & Fair, I’m beginning to realize that there is so much about the event that I need to tell you about! And one of the things I’m most excited about this year is the paw-some flyball demonstrations that we’re going to have at Parfet Park.

Have you all heard of flyball? No? It’s only like the Olympics for us canines (although I’m pretty sure there is an actual dog Olympics, so I guess that wouldn’t be the right comparison…). Well, anyway it’s super cool and I can’t wait for you all to see it at the fair on September 16!

So, What Exactly Is Flyball?

Well, I’m so glad you asked! For those who haven’t heard of flyball – essentially it is a team sport for dogs that started in the 1970s. It consists of a relay race with four dogs on a team and they compete against other teams where they leap over hurdles to a spring-loaded box with a tennis ball. After catching the tennis ball, they then must again jump over the hurdles and race back to the start line! The team with the fastest overall times will receive the most points and be crowned the winners. It’s such an exciting, fast-paced event where any dog of any size and breed can participate with the right training!

But you know what, instead of listening to me explain, why don’t you see for yourself! Watch below for a great video from North American Flyball Association.

Want to see flyball in action? Phantom Flyers Flyball Club will at Toby’s Pet Parade & Fair this year and we’ll get to see their pups doing drills! And if you’re feeling really spunky then you just might get a chance to get in on the relay excitement (emphasis on you my canine friends… I personally prefer to be a spectator of this awesome event).

Get Ready, Get Set and Hurdle!

So, what do you think!? Are you excited yet! I know I am! Get those running paws ready and head on over to Toby’s Pet Parade & Fair on September 16 to witness and experience the thrilling sport that is flyball. And if you want to learn more about Phantom Flyers Flyball Club, be sure to visit their Facebook page!

Until next time friends!

Bow wow wow,
Your pal Toby
